Bernard Corey (American, 1914-2000) landscape painting of hills in late autumn. Oil on masonite. Size: 8.75 inches x 12 inches. Excellent condition and offered in a contemporary gilt wood frame. Signed. Bernard Corey was born in South Grafton, Massachusetts and is recognized as one of New England's premier landscape painters. He was a member of the Rockport Art Association, the Salmagundi Club, the Gild of Boston Artists and the North Shore Art Association.
Landscape painting of a Vermont village in winter by Robert Shaw Wesson (American, 1902-1967), oil on canvas board, signed lower right. Circa 1950s. Original artist's frame. Size: 18" x 24". Robert Shaw Wesson was born in Worcester, MA, and studied under Jay Hall Connaway. He is best known for his winter landscapes of New England. This is a particularly pleasing example of his art and is undoubtedly of a Vermont village.
Burgoyne A. Diller (1906-1965), untitled abstract and geometric mixed media drawing. Graphite and crayon on tissue paper. Initialed 'd' and dated '52' (1952.) This drawing bears exhibition labels from the Walker Art Center of Minneapolis, MN, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, as well as from Noah Goldowsky, Inc. Fine Arts, of New York. Condition is very good. Size: 15.25 inches x 8 inches (sight). Burgoyne Diller is considered to have been the pioneer of 'minimalism' in America.
