Jacob I. Greenleaf (American, 1887-1968) - 'Vermont Hills With Mt. Mansfield in Distance' Oil on linen. Size: 16 inches X 20 inches. Circa 1950s. Signed in lower left and retaining on the reverse the original artist's label with title. Offered in the original stained wood frame. In this painting, Jacob Greenleaf has depicted a farm situated along a country road at the peak of fall foliage season, with the profile of Mount Mansfield visible in the distance. Greenland was a native of Estonia and emigrated to the United States, where he settled in Rockport, Massachusetts. He is best known for his paintings of New England landscapes and coastal scenes.
