Rare Gorham Arts & Crafts sterling silver sauce gravy ladle in a hammered surface and with mixed metals design on the handle of two cherries, leaf and twig in bronze, and with a second leaf in gilded silver. Circa 1885. Excellent condition. Marks: stamped with the Gorham logo (lion, anchor, G) "sterling & other metals", and with the name of the retailer George H. Ford. Size: 6" length.

Continental singing bird-in-cage automaton. Circa. 1900. Probably French or Swiss. Bird fashioned from real feathers, with glass eyes, and on a brass perch. Key-wind mechanism inside base of cage causes bird to sing various bird songs, while moving beak and turning head. Some loss to bird’s feathers. Musical movement is operational but sometimes hesitates, requiring a slight titling action to restore it, so probably requires some adjustment. Size: 12.5” ht.

A rare French porcelain figural inkstand in the form of a grazing cow, 19th century. This inkstand has a removable inkwell and sander and is modeled in the form of a grazing cow, complete with horns and bell, decorated in polychrome enamels, with overglaze gilt accents. It bears a blue pseudo Sevres mark on the underside. Continental, probably of French origin. Professional restoration to horns; also, there is a tiny manufacturing line on the edge of the base (see photo detail)...

Rare English Bilston type figural bonbonniere in the form of a seal's head, fashioned in painted enamels over copper. Circa 1760-1790. The cover is brass mounted and hand painted with two running hounds. The box is unmarked but was probably made at Bilston. Condition: some hairlines and with minor chipping and lines to the hinged cover; tiny blemish on animal's chin. Size: 1.5" length x 1.25" diameter. True period examples like this are scarce to the market.

A large English majolica pitcher decorated with two pink wild roses on green leaf stems placed on a brown tree bark background, with twig handle. Circa 1880. Unmarked but possibly by Holdcroft. The interior with a light green glaze. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is a pin head size burst glaze bubble on handle thumb rest and some minor crazing on base. This match safe or vesta case is a contemporary copy of a Victorian original. It is very detailed and of heavy weight. The dog's collar hinges open to reveal the matches inside, and there is a striker under the chin. Fully hallmarked for London, 2004. Size: 2 inches length x 1.25 inches depth x 1 inch ht. Double ended Victorian scent bottle of faceted ruby colored glass with gold filled, foliate engraved metal end caps. The bottle is divided at the midpoint to form two separate scent vials. One end has a cap that opens with a button and hinge, while the other has a screw cap of similar appearance. Engraved initial 'B' on caps. Circa 1880s. Unmarked, but probably English. No internal stopper. Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks or dents (one cap fitting is slightly loose)...
