A large English majolica pitcher decorated with two pink wild roses on green leaf stems placed on a brown tree bark background, with twig handle. Circa 1880. Unmarked but possibly by Holdcroft. The interior with a light green glaze. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is a pin head size burst glaze bubble on handle thumb rest and some minor crazing on base. The condition of this pitcher is about as close to 'mint' as one could find in majolica. Size: 8" ht. x 7.5" across handle x 5.5" diameter.
