Though mainly of 18th century origin, this chest has experienced many alterations and repairs, including a 20th century plywood potty covering. Early American Chippendale tall chest, Pennsylvania origin. Circa 1760-1780. Size: 64 1/2 inches ht. x 45 3/8 inches wide x 23 1/2 inches deep. Figured walnut. This chest has three horizontally positioned top drawers above five finely graduated drawers, flanked with fluted quarter columns, and supported on ogee form bracket feet. Older replaced oval brass bail pulls. Excellent antique condition.
