Antique Chippendale commode potty chest/chair. Mahogany and pine. An attractive diminutive sized chest which folds up into a chair with potty cut out seat. Though mainly of 18th century origin, this chest has experienced many alterations and repairs, including a 20th century plywood potty covering. Other portions of the interior shelving and base have been reworked, also in the 20th century. The brass bail front pulls are original, but the side carrying handles are later additions. Size: 26 inches length x 29.25 inches height x 17.25 inches deep. A great conversation piece with an unexpected find inside.
