A Victorian walking stick with an exotic wood shaft fitted with a carved ivory handle modeled in the form of a fist clenching a ball. A fine touch of added quality is the carved snake bracelet with inlaid eyes which wraps around the hand, typical of jewelry worn in the Victorian age. An extra band of ivory is added as the collar and there is an ivory tip. The fineness of the carving is apparent in the detailed depiction of the fingernails. Excellent condition. A large English majolica pitcher decorated with two pink wild roses on green leaf stems placed on a brown tree bark background, with twig handle. Circa 1880. Unmarked but possibly by Holdcroft. Norbert Goeneutte (French, 1854-1894) genre painting of a Parisian bookseller. Oil on wood panel. Dated 1881. Size: 12 1/8" x 16 1/8". Signed lower right. Condition: excellent. Goeneutte was a painter of genre scenes, portraits and urban landscapes. He is best known for his depictions of everyday life in Paris, with particular attention to the women of the city.

Minton hand painted botanical dessert service, including eight 9" dessert plates and 1 dessert stand. Date code for 1869. Each plate has a cobalt border with rich gilding and a hand-painted central reserve depicting various species of flowers, butterflies, berries, and insects. A sculptured bronze match holder with striker modeled in the form of a fox caught in a trap. Continental origin. Mid to late 19th century. Size: 4.25 inches length x 2.25 inches height x 3 inches depth. Excellent as-found condition. The fox is standing amidst foliage by a tree stump (which serves as the match holder) with his left fore paw caught in a metal snare. His expression displays the distress caused by his predicament. The fox is cast separately and attached to the base.

Very scarce Northwest Coast Tlingit potlatch ladle, fashioned from hand-beaten copper and Dall mountain sheep horn. Circa 1840s. Size: 9 inches length (3.25 inches handle). 'The Temptation of St. Anthony' by Edouard De Beaumont (French, 1821-1888), oil on canvas. Circa 1850s-1860s. Size: 30 inches x 20 inches. Charles Edouard de Beaumont was son of the sculptor, Jean-Baptiste Beaumont, and Charles studied under the artist Boisselier. He was primarily a lithographer but also painted in oils, and founded the Society of Watercolourists in 1879. Offered in an antique gilt wood frame. Signed in the lower left. Rare American Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., Sandwich, Massachusetts cut overlay bell pull, with white glass over cranberry and with brass end mounts.
