"Deserted Station" watercolor painting by Frederick Clay Bartlett, Jr. (American, 1907-1955). Signed lower right and dated Sept. 1942. Clay Bartlett was a Vermont artist with a residence in Manchester, VT. He was a member of the Southern Vermont Artists from 1934-1951. This painting depicts an abandoned railway station with its shutters closed and with a stationary train on the adjacent tracks. Size: 13" x 19" (sight). Excellent condition.
J. Pouyat, Limoges, France porcelain relish or condiment dish, decorated with rich gilding to the rococo rim and handles, and with a lustrous interior. There is a gilded original owner's initial "B" applied to one side, and the dish is signed on the under side by the decorator with the initials AB and dated 1933, together with the Pouyat stamp. Size: 10.5"L x 4"D x 3"H. Excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs, and with no wear to the gilding.

Antique Wedgwood dark blue Jasper ware dip jug, England, c.1900., with classical scenes in relief of Diana and other figures making offerings, and with festooned decoration round the rim. Size: 6.25" ht. x 6" diameter x 7.5" over handle/spout. Condition is very good, with no loss to relief decoration, or repairs, only with some staining to the bottom of the jug and with a manufacturer's firing crack at the top handle join. Rare New England sampler from Enfield, NH, dated 1825, embroidered by Cynthia Terry, aged 11. Decorated with baskets of flowers and with the poem: "When death does throw his fatal dart / The nearest earthly friends must part / Parents must leave their children dear / When they the dreadful summons hear." Each drawer is veneered in book matched crotch mahogany with satinwood cross banding. The high French feet flank a scrolled apron with checkered inlay. Old refinish.
