Rare sterling silver spectacles in a green shagreen eye glasses case with silver mounts. Circa 1790-1800. The silver eyeglasses are unmarked, but are probably English, with folding frames. The shagreen (shark skin) case is in excellent condition with unmarked silver mounts and a working push-button catch. Size: 5 1/4" ht. x 2" width x 5/8" depth. Shagreen was made from the skin of the dogfish, a variety of shark, and was filed smooth and then applied like leather over a wooden case...

Georgian physician's blood letting set including a silver mounted green shagreen case with hinged top, complete with its four original thumb lancets, each with a triangular steel blade housed in hinged tortoiseshell protective guards. An English Victorian claret jug in cut crystal mounted with a sterling silver handle and spout with hinged cover. Fully hallmarked on the silver neck for Birmingham, 1892, by Vale Brothers & Sermon. Size: 8.5" ht. x 5.5" x 4.5". Condition: No chips, cracks, dents, or repairs. Crystal is clear apart from some slight cloudiness on the very bottom of the jug (which might be removed with soaking).

Pairpoint centerpiece in silverplate with cut crystal vase, fashioned in a classical style with female masks and garlands, and supported on paw feet. The removable crystal vase is decorated with diamond cut motifs and has a star in the base. Circa 1890-1915. Condition: Two small chips to the crystal (one on top rim; one on underside of base).
