English George III rectangular tea caddy in satinwood veneer. Circa 1790. The front and lid are adorned with oval fan paterae inlaid with harewood and the edges have ebonized stringing. Lenticular bone keyhole escutcheon. The interior dividers have been removed and the box is lined with red velvet. Original hinges and lock. Condition: very good overall with some fine hairlines in the veneer and with two areas of minor damage to the ebonized stringing at the two front corners of the lid...
Set of twelve Copeland's Spode porcelain dessert plates with pink glazed borders and floral bouquet centers (each plate is decorated with an individual floral arrangement). Pattern #4375. Made for retailer Tatman of Chicago, with date codes for 1927, and with one plate being a later replacement, bearing a date code for 1938 and signed by the artist P. Hall. Size: 9" diameter. Condition: excellent, except for a rim chip to the underside of the rim of one plate.
A pair of large-sized Italian carved wood sculptures of angels. 19th century or earlier. Each polychromed figure is made from gessoed wood and is life size. The wings are attached as separate parts, screwed onto the backs of the angels. Their backs are flattened. Mt. Washington Glass Works Crown Milano glass cracker biscuit jar of ribbed, melon form in a satin finish with a buff color shading to orange and with hand painted oak leaf decoration. The collar, swing handle and cover are of pewter. Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks to the glass and the decoration is crisp. The cover is Mt. Washington and is stamped "MW 537," however, there is some play in its fitting, and it may be a marriage from another jar...
Rare New England sampler from Enfield, NH, dated 1825, embroidered by Cynthia Terry, aged 11. Decorated with baskets of flowers and with the poem: "When death does throw his fatal dart / The nearest earthly friends must part / Parents must leave their children dear / When they the dreadful summons hear." Size: 11.5 inches x 10.5 inches. Offered in an antique giltwood frame. Very good condition. Some light toning in spots.

A rare and early chalk ware figure of a resting spaniel with finely molded detailing, glass eyes and the original finish. Circa 1870's to 1890's. A very rare Czech art pottery wall plaque designed by Karl Grossl in 1934 and stamped on the reverse FBS within a circle, Made In Czechoslovakia, and numbered 157-10P. Probably by the Keramia Company. Featured in Wondermasken book. The plaque is fashioned of terracotta and covered in a turquoise glaze. The relief female mask is in black with a colored rose. Size: 10" high x 10.5" wide. This is possibly a prototype as only 10 were made. Excellent condition...
Antique Syrian carved and inlaid folding chair. This chair is ornately inlaid with mother-of-pearl and intricately carved with an Arabic inscription. The chair folds for ease of transportation. Gilded sterling silver anointing spoon commemorating the coronation of King Edward VII, London, 1902, by Cornelius Saunders and James Shepherd. Size: 6.75 inches length. This spoon is designed after the 12th century anointing spoon of Henry II, currently in the English Royal Collection.
Condition: very good and retaining most of the original gilding.
Early William III Britannia standard silver trefid tablespoon, London, 1699, by silversmith Francis Archbold, length 7.25 inches. The shallow bowl gilded on the interior and with a double ribbed and beaded rat tail. The upturned handle's terminal is cut with two notches. Hallmarks are quite well struck apart from the date letter which is worn but still legible. The higher Britannia silver standard of 95.84% was introduced in 1697 but is rarely found after 1730...

Robert Shaw Wesson was born in Worcester, MA, and studied under Jay Hall Connaway. He is best known for his winter landscapes of New England. This is a particularly pleasing example of his art and is undoubtedly of a Vermont village.
