Jacob I. Greenleaf (American, 1887-1968) - Woodland Brook. Oil on canvas board. Circa 1930s. Size: 10 inches x 12 inches. Original frame. Retaining artist's label on reverse with title. Signed in lower left. A most appealing Arts and Crafts style early spring landscape painting of a woodland brook meandering through the last of the winter's snow banks. A native of Estonia, Jacob Greenleaf emigrated to the United States, where he settled in Rockport, Massachusetts. He is best known for his paintings of New England landscapes and coastal scenes. Condition: very good and in the original frame.
