Pair of armorial Porcelain de Paris serving dishes decorated in a Chinese export style. French. Circa 1940s-50s. Size: 10 3/4 inches length x 9 3/4 inches depth x 2 inches ht. Ornate hand decoration with rich enamel painting and gilding. Nice condition, with a manufacturer's firing crack flaw to the front of one dish. Painted red pseudo Chinese character marks to the underside. Frequently this type of porcelain has been mis-attributed to the Samson factory of the 19th century but is, in fact, a product of the Porcelain de Paris factory from the 20th century.
