Pair English George III knife boxes in Hepplewhite style. Circa 1800. Each box veneered in figured mahogany with boxwood stringing and serpentine shaped fronts. The sloping hinged lids are adorned with marquetry ovals depicting a dove on an olive branch on a hardwood ground. These boxes retain their internal cutlery dividers and have a star inlaid inside the lids. The boxes are in very good condition with some old veneer repair. Size: 14 1/2 inches high X 8 1/2 inches wide X 11 1/2 inches deep.
