Romare Bearden (American, 1911-1988) - The Fall of Troy. Colored screen print, 1979, signed in pencil in lower margin. From the Odysseus series. Image size: 18.25 inches x 24 inches. This is from the Deluxe print edition of 75 (numbered XXXXIV/LXXV). There was a regular edition of 125 prints, then a deluxe edition of 75 numbered in Roman numerals; then 30 artist proofs and a Museum edition of 30. Offered in museum quality framing. Excellent condition (not examined out of the frame). Romare Bearden was an American artist, song-writer and author, who is known for his depictions of African-American life. He experimented with various techniques and mediums, which led the 'New York Times' top describe him as "the nation's foremost collagist."
