Early Chamberlains Worcester porcelain teapot and stand. Circa 1800. An attractive example of a Worcester teapot with vertical ribbed design and hand painted with bands of gilt foliage and sepia colored scrolling feathers. The lid has a pagoda finial and is marked on its underside in gold script "Chamberlains Worcester, Worcester N.34." Condition is excellent with no chips or repairs. There is some minor wear to the gilding along the edge of the lid and on the rim of the oval stand. There is also a very small manufacturing firing line at the location of a seam on the rim of the pot near to the handle joint, which is visible when the lid is removed. (See photo detail) This does not interfere with the use of the pot in any fashion. There is no staining to the interior. The only markings are those described on the underside of the teapot's lid. Size of teapot: 9.25 inches across handle x 7.25 inches ht. x 5 inches deep. Size of stand: 6 inches x 4.5 inches.
