Dennis Sheehan (American, born 1950) landscape painting titled on reverse 'Haze at Sunrise' and dated 2007. Oil on canvas. Canvas size: 13 inches x 19 inches. Condition: excellent. Original price of $2,800 is marked on the reverse of the frame; with a small chip to the gilding of the frame in the the lower right. Dennis Sheehan is a contemporary painter of landscapes whose work is inspired by George Inness and other 19th century tonalists. His paintings are in many public and private collections, including the White House. He attended the Montserrat College of Art in Boston. Sheehan studied under Robert Cormier and Richard Whitney and is a member of the Guild of Boston Artists. (Source: "American Artist", Oct. 2003). This painting is typical of his style and subject, capturing a pale rising sun, as it is revealed through the silhouettes of a row of bare trees bordering a hay field. It is offered in a contemporary gilt wood plein air frame. The painting is signed by the artist in the lower right corner.
