A rare French porcelain figural inkstand in the form of a grazing cow, 19th century. This inkstand has a removable inkwell and sander and is modeled in the form of a grazing cow, complete with horns and bell, decorated in polychrome enamels, with overglaze gilt accents. It bears a blue pseudo Sevres mark on the underside. Continental, probably of French origin. Professional restoration to horns; also, there is a tiny manufacturing line on the edge of the base (see photo detail)...
American Revolutionary War era military style wooden canteen. 19th century. Oak hand carved staves held together by four horizontal hand forged iron bands and two vertical bands; two iron rings and hand forged nails. A keg form canteen with two holes in the top; and with two iron carrying rings for a sling. Condition is very good; the upper most iron band is loose. Dimensions: 8" high x 8.5" wide x 5" deep.

Continental singing bird-in-cage automaton. Circa. 1900. Probably French or Swiss. Bird fashioned from real feathers, with glass eyes, and on a brass perch. Key-wind mechanism inside base of cage causes bird to sing various bird songs, while moving beak and turning head. Some loss to bird’s feathers. Musical movement is operational but sometimes hesitates, requiring a slight titling action to restore it, so probably requires some adjustment. Size: 12.5” ht.
Rare Gorham Arts & Crafts sterling silver sauce gravy ladle in a hammered surface and with mixed metals design on the handle of two cherries, leaf and twig in bronze, and with a second leaf in gilded silver. Circa 1885. Excellent condition. Marks: stamped with the Gorham logo (lion, anchor, G) "sterling & other metals", and with the name of the retailer George H. Ford. Size: 6" length.

Scottish three-piece sterling silver tea service, Edinburgh. 1824-25. Maker's mark CB, for Charles Bendy, known for his decanter labels, ladles and tea pots. Weight: 49.8 troy ounces. A rare set of compressed globular form resting on round, stepped pedestal bases. The gadrooned bodies are accented with decorative acanthus rims and handles, and the open sugar bowl and milk jug retain an original gilt wash to their interiors. No monograms or erasures.
