Aesthetic style coin silver octagonal bowl by William Forbes for the famous firm of Ball, Tomkins and Black, New York. Circa 1845. This bowl was probably originally part of a tea and coffee service. It weighs a substantial 12.92 troy ounces and measures 3.5 inches ht. x 5.75 inches diameter. It is beautifully engraved with chinoiserie decoration, using stylized Chinese pagodas and scrolling foliage. One panel is engraved with the family monogram 'MEW.' Excellent condition.

A Chinese export rose medallion porcelain vase of baluster form with four applied gilded lizard handles. Circa 1840-50s. The coffee pot and hot milk jug are each stamped with the pattern number '1A,' whereas the sugar bowl is stamped '1'. Early Jensen marks, see photos for details.
