We believe that the subject of this colorful painting is the porch of Arthur Wilder's Mountain Ave. home in Woodstock, Vermont, with his collie dog, Lady. His grandson, Lyle Pearsons, records Arthur's later years as follows: "During the 1930s he continued painting regularly until his wife died in 1938...

Antique red-painted country tall chest, New England, circa 1830. Pine with original red surface and original brass hardware. Five graduated drawers; high feet with unusual shaped, scrolled skirt in the front and sides. Size: 47 inches ht. x 38.25 inches width x 19 inches depth. Minor surface imperfections.

Early American Chippendale tall chest, Pennsylvania origin. Circa 1760-1780. Size: 64 1/2 inches ht. x 45 3/8 inches wide x 23 1/2 inches deep. Figured walnut. This chest has three horizontally positioned top drawers above five finely graduated drawers, flanked with fluted quarter columns, and supported on ogee form bracket feet. Older replaced oval brass bail pulls. Excellent antique condition.

Early English piano-forte by Messr's. Bland and Weller, 23 Oxford Street, London. Circa 1790-1810. An early version of the piano in a decorative mahogany rectangular case adorned with chevron string inlay and hand painted with pink roses above the keyboard, being supported on a tapered leg stand. This instrument requires professional restoration to bring it back to a playable condition...

New England Queen Anne period maple highboy. 18th century. Size: 40.5 inches wide x 21 inches deep x 68 inches high. A two-part flat top highboy in solid maple with some tiger to the end panels. The upper chest has 5 graduated drawers, and the base displays a single drawer above 3 drawers, with the central drawer carved with a fan. The case is supported on cabriole legs with pad feet. The apron of the base is ornamented with a complex carved scroll design. Brasses are old replacements...

New England antique Queen Anne/Chippendale transitional tiger maple tall chest. Circa 1760. Size: 39 inches wide x 54.5 inches ht. x 18.75 inches deep. A diminutive sized early American tall chest with two drawers over 5 graduated drawers, retaining the original Queen Anne brass pulls, and supported on a bracket base with scrolled profile. Excellent condition.

D'Arches paper. Condition: very good, with bright, crisp colors; some toning to the very edges of the sheet, which would be hidden if matted (currently framed floating with no mat.) This painting was published as the cover of the November 1951 issue of "Reader's Digest." A copy of this magazine is included ...

"Vermont Village in Winter" by Arthur B. Wilder (American, 1857-1949), oil on artist board, signed & dated lower left 1947, titled on reverse. Size: 20" x 24". Excellent condition with a fresh bright palette. An eye-catching impressionist winter landscape by Arthur Wilder, painted late in his life, probably of the hills surrounding Woodstock, Vermont. Wilder is best known for his winter views. During Calvin Coolidge's presidency, a winter scene by Wilder hung in the White House.

An antique Ethan Allen full bodied running horse weather vane in copper with flowing mane and tail, and an iron head. Great patina and condition. A single bullet hole to one side that does not penetrate through to the other side. Circa 1870. Dimensions: 30 inches long x 18 inches ht.
