Diana Leaving the Bath (Diane Sortant du Bain), after Francois Boucher (French, 1703-1770). Oil on canvas. 2nd half 19th century. Offered in an antique tin over wood frame. This is an unsigned 19th century copy of the Francois Boucher original that was acquired by The Louvre, in Paris, in 1852. This copy was probably created within twenty-five years after Boucher painted his original.

China Trade painting - "Coastal Village Scene With Anchored Junk". Oil on canvas. Circa: late 19th C. Size: 17 3/4 inches x 23 1/2 inches. Unsigned. A painting from the China Trade school depicting modest homes along a coastal estuary, together with the local inhabitants and a 'junk' at anchor. Offered in a black and gold wood frame and retaining a Quester Gallery label, Stonington, CT. Professionally restored and relined on a new stretcher.

Pair of English brass Georgian telescopic ejector candlesticks, c.1800. Size: 6.75" - 9.25" height x 3.5" x 3.5". Condition: Some tiny stress cracks to the top of the lower section of one candlestick (see photos detail). Also, one stick requires extra effort to get it to remain in the fully extended position and probably required some sort of new dampening material to keep it in place.

Early American coin silver chamberstick, probably upstate New York, Albany area. Circa: 1800-1820. This heavy chamberstick bears unidentified pseudo-hallmarks on the foot ring that are listed in J.R. McGrew's book on maker's marks as probably upstate New York. Missing the snuffer & some minor blemishes. The heavy silver nut on the base is over an iron nut, which is probably a later replacement. Size: 6" x 5 1/8" diameter x 3" ht.

English lozenge-shaped porcelain serving dish from a dessert service, embellished with a wide, elaborate gilded scroll border surrounding a central hand painted bouquet of summer flowers. Unmarked. Circa 1815-1820. Possibly Spode or Coalport. Condition: some minor wear to the gilding on the rim; no cracks or lines. Size: 10 3/4" x 7 3/8". Other pieces available from this service.

Lozenge shaped porcelain serving dish from an English dessert service, decorated with an ornate gilded scroll border and with a central hand-painted reserve of summer flowers. Unmarked. Circa 1815-1820. Size: 11" x 7.5" Condition is excellent; no chips or lines; hardly any wear to the gilding or flower painting. Possibly Spode or Coalport. Alexander Wilson (Scottish/American, 1766-1813), Plate 71, from his "American Ornithology", published by Bradford & Innskeep, Philadelphia. 1808-1814. 1st edition. Engraved by Alexander Lawson. Vue d'une Ancienne Abbaye Staffordshire historical plate by Enoch Wood. Circa 1825. This pearlware plate is decorated in a dark blue transfer and is from the "French series." It has a grape vine border and bears on the back the pottery's factory impressed mark WOOD as well as the pattern name in an underglaze blue stamp. Size: 9" diameter. Condition: Very good with a couple of very small pin sized flecks to the glaze and some fine crazing.

English George III snuff box fashioned from horn and with a tortoiseshell veneer on the cover. Circa 1790-1810. The cover is also inlaid with a floral design in silver and gold. Chip to one corner of cover (see photo detail); hinge is firm and carved from the horn, with a snug fit to the lid. Size: 3" long x 1.5" deep x .75" high.

Enoch Wood historical Staffordshire dark blue transfer plate, Moulin sur la Marne a Charenton, from the French series. Circa 1825. Pearlware with grapevine border and with pottery's impressed WOOD mark and underglaze blue pattern name. Size: 9 1/8" diameter. Condition is very good apart from some light staining to reverse of plate.

George III sterling silver wine jug, London, 1809, by George Smith II (cover marked by John Robins), with urn finial, and bent fruitwood handle. Size: 11.5 in. ht. x 6.6 in. x 4.5 in. No monogram. Nice condition (cover with slight gap at spout when closed).

An American War of 1812 era military dirk by Dickson of Albany, New York. With engraved gilded brass sheath. Overall length: 14 inches. Pommel is a replacement, crack to hilt, minor rust to triangular steel blade.

English George III era Old Sheffield silver plated meat dome cover with robust gadrooned border and removable cast acanthus leaf-form handle. The cover is adorned with a full armorial engraved into a plaque of solid sterling silver which has been let into the cover in order to prevent any underlying copper from showing through the engraved family armorial. Circa 1810-1820. Size: 14 1/2 in. length x 10 1/2 in. depth x 8 1/2 in. ht. Sterling silver fused over copper; tinned interior.

Early Georgian shagreen covered slant front knife box with original brass hardware and working lock. English. Circa 1740-1760. Materials: Shagreen (shark skin) over wood with brass bail handle, hinges and lock escutcheon. Including key. The hinged cover reveals the original velvet fitted interior with divisions for 24 pieces of cutlery (slots to hold 12 knives and 12 forks). A rare Channel Islands sterling silver trefid table spoon by silversmith Thomas David Mauger, of Jersey (active 1730-1796). Circa 1740. Engraved with original owner's initials "ILC" in shaded block letters on the reverse of the notched trefid handle. There is a worn ribbed rat tail to the reverse of the shallow bowl. English dognose table spoon, London, circa 1702, by Henry Greene. Britannia standard (95.84% pure silver). Length - 8 inches. Good condition, with no dents or repairs, or wear to bowl. Maker's mark is worn but can be positively identified as that of specialist spoonmaker Henry Greene; date letter rubbed and only faintly discernible (possibly 1702); lion's head erased and Britannia figure hallmarks are legible.
