| Cesare A. Ricciardi (Italian/American, 1892-1973) oil on canvasboard marinescape of a Misty Morning in a New England harbor. Dated 1954. Size: 20 inches x 24 inches. Cesare Ricciardi emigrated from Italy to the United States as a young boy. His art studies began at the Philadelphia Sketch Club, but he eventually enrolled at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied with Thomas Anschutz, Cecilia Beaux, Hugh Breckenridge, Robert Henri and Leopold Seiffert. He is mainly known as a Pennsylvania painter, but his trips to New England produced many marinescapes of moonlit harbors and dock scenes, Condition is very good. Signed and dated in the lower left. | ||
