The figured mahogany continues on the base panel, with a surround of line inlay and canted fretwork corners, and is supported on ogee feet. The brass 8-day movement with anchor escapement has an arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring, fire gilt Rococo spandrels, separate seconds and calendar dials, with rotating phases of the moon and a landscape in the arch.
