| An ice bucket or pail fashioned in sterling silver by the Gorham Mfg. Co. with date code for 1912. This Arts & Crafts era bucket was designed in a medieval style utilizing a hand hammered treatment to the mounts and straps, with simulated nail heads. A swing handle and spout with strainer allows melted ice water to be poured away. Engraved on the top with the conjoined Gothic initials 'MJ'. Close inspection reveals evidence of a silversmith's old repair to the smaller pouring handle where it attaches to the bucket. (See photo detail) Size: 10.5" ht. x 7" across the spout x 5.5" diameter. | ||
