| "Spring Creek", a Texas landscape painting with river by A.D. Greer (American, 1904-1998), oil on board. Circa. 1950s. The painting is signed in the lower right, and on the reverse of the frame bears the estate stamp of the artist, together with title and estimate of age. Size: 10" x 21". Excellent original condition. Aubrey Greer is best known as a Texas landscape painter, although he was born in Oklahoma, grew up in Kansas, and latterly spent much of his life in New York where he continued to paint southwestern luminous landscapes, often with the aid of photographs of the West. This painting depicts "Spring Creek" in the late afternoon as it lazily meanders through the Texas countryside. | ||
