| "Mount Equinox, Manchester, Vermont" in winter by Hildegard Rath (German/American, 1909-1994), oil on canvas, dated 1986 on stretcher, signed lower left and bearing Southern Vermont Artists label on verso with title. Canvas size: 31" x 38". Hildegard Rath was born in the Black Forest region of Germany, but, in 1946, she married the sculptor Hermann Gross and emigrated to New York City. Her paintings have been exhibited in numerous one-man and group shows throughout both Europe and the U.S.A. and are represented in many public and private collections on both sides of the Atlantic. She also maintained a residence in Manchester Center, Vermont. | ||
