| "Clear Morning, Vermont" landscape painting by Emile Albert Gruppe (American, 1896-1978), oil on canvasboard. Signed in lower right and titled and signed on verso. Circa 1950s. A very attractive Mt. Mansfield scene by this popular and prolific marine and landscape artist. Although Emile Gruppe is best known for his harbor scenes of the Mass. North shore, he also maintained a residence in Jeffersonville, VT where he painted the surrounding countryside, especially in winter. Size: 16 inches x 20 inches. Excellent condition with bright colors, though it would benefit from a light cleaning. Offered in a contemporary Arts and Crafts style carved gilt frame. | ||
