An Early American Queen Anne tiger maple highboy of a rare, small size. Circa 1760. New Hampshire origin. Size: 39 inches wide x 62.5 inches high x 21.5 inches deep. This two-part highboy is fashioned from strongly figured tiger maple, with pine secondary woods. The flat top upper chest features a dovetailed cornice molding and two drawers over three graduated drawers; the base with three drawers and supported on cabriole legs with pad feet. The apron of the base is ornamented with carved scrolls and two acorn pendant drops. Brasses are old replacements. Very nice condition, in an old finish; with some repairs to foot on front left leg and to one upper ear on the knee of the right front leg.
