| New Hampshire country Federal era four-drawer chest. Circa 1820s. Size: 43 inches width x 21 inches depth x 41 inches height. This attractive Sheraton-style chest retains its original finish with brown stain over maple. The four graduated drawers are veneered in birds-eye maple and have their original wooden pulls. The case is adorned with front corner posts featuring alternating ring and rope twist carvings, and there is a shaped apron with unusual scroll work. The cookie corner top is original, as is the two-board back. Condition is very good, apart from a single glued repair to the apron and with some discoloration to the top, which also has a couple of age cracks. This decorative NH chest and is being offered at a great price. | ||
