| Dennis Sheehan (American, b. 1950) landscape painting of a tonalist sunset over a marsh. Size: 24 inches x 30 inches. Signed Sheehan in lower right and in pencil on the reverse, together with the title. Excellent original condition and offered in a carved gilt plein air frame. Dennis Sheehan is a contemporary painter of landscapes whose work is inspired by George Inness and other 19th century tonalists. His paintings are in many public and private collections, including the White House. He attended the Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA and the Vesper George School of Art in Boston. He studied under Robert Cormier and Richard Whitney and is a member of the Guild of Boston Artists. He currently maintains a gallery in Manchester, NH. (Source: 'American Artist,' Oct. 2003). | ||
