"Last of Winter" landscape painting by Harold Kloongian, 1980, oil on canvas board, 16 inches x 20 inches. Signed lower right, and titled, dated and signed on verso. Excellent condition. In this painting, Kloongian captures a rural Vermont farm house and barn in a golden light at the end of a sunny day in late winter. Harold Kloongian is a Massachusetts painter. He studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and at the Art Institute of Boston, as well as with the notable artists Emile Gruppe, Carl Nelson, John Pike, Frank Rines and Edgar Whitney. Amongst his favorite subjects are Vermont plein air landscapes and Rockport/Gloucester marine views. He served three terms as president of the North Shore Arts Association and continues to promote the arts in and around the North Shore of Massachusetts.
