SOLD 

A very rare Czech art pottery wall plaque designed by Karl Grossl in 1934 and stamped on the reverse FBS within a circle, Made In Czechoslovakia, and numbered 157-10P. Probably by the Keramia Company. Featured in Wondermasken book. The plaque is fashioned of terracotta and covered in a turquoise glaze. The relief female mask is in black with a colored rose. A rare Lalique sculptured figure of a sitting cat, executed in frosted crystal. # 11603. Circa early 1970s. This figure is wonderfully formed and modelled, with detailing to the fur and expression to the face. Signed on base, Lalique France, in script and retaining its original MADE IN FRANCE paper label. Excellent condition, with no chips. Size: 8.25 inches high x 6.5 inches x 4 inches.

Old English tablespoon by England's most famous female silversmith, Hester Bateman. London. 1780. Original owner's engraved monogram in feathered script, 'JMA.' Very good condition with no repairs. Egg-shaped bowl retains its shape. Bottom marked with some compressing of hallmarks but still very legible. HB maker's mark is quite clear. 8 inch length.

Early William III Britannia standard silver trefid tablespoon, London, 1699, by silversmith Francis Archbold, length 7.25 inches. The shallow bowl gilded on the interior and with a double ribbed and beaded rat tail. The upturned handle's terminal is cut with two notches. Hallmarks are quite well struck apart from the date letter which is worn but still legible. The higher Britannia silver standard of 95.84% was introduced in 1697 but is rarely found after 1730. Rare New England sampler from Enfield, NH, dated 1825, embroidered by Cynthia Terry, aged 11. Decorated with baskets of flowers and with the poem: "When death does throw his fatal dart / The nearest earthly friends must part / Parents must leave their children dear / When they the dreadful summons hear." Size: 11.5 inches x 10.5 inches. Offered in an antique giltwood frame. Very good condition. Some light toning in spots.

Pair of Irish sterling silver fiddle pattern table spoons, Dublin, 1812, by silversmith Richard Whitford, retailed by Matthew West. Engraved family crest of an eagle atop a tower. Very nice condition with well struck hallmarks, and the bowls retaining their shapes. No repairs. Some scratches and wear to crests. Size: 8.75" long.
