Rare large size Noah's Ark wooden toy, Germany. Circa 1940. Probably Black Forest region. Painted decoration with columns and windows. One side of roof hinges open, middle side panel slides and half of hull folds down with catch. No figures or animals included. Good condition but with minor separation of joint at top of sliding side panel which requires repair and sliver of wood broken from bottom slide of panel (loose piece is included)...

Rare Scottish sterling silver footed bowl, Edinburgh, 1744, by silversmith Ebenezer Oliphant. The bowl is supported on three lion paw feet and has a flat chased serrated rim. Legible hallmarks on underside. Very good condition with one small indentation on inside of bowl where one foot has pushed in the bowl slightly. No repairs. "Hill Rhythms" by William Edward Bloomfield Starkweather (Scottish/American, 1879-1969), oil on masonite, 1932, signed lower right. An impressionist landscape and inscribed on the verso "Hill Rhythms by William Starkweather, painted at Oneonta, NY in 1932." Starkweather was born in Edinburgh and became a landscape painter. He studied in NYC at the Art Students League, in France and under Sorolla in Madrid, Spain. Size: 13 inches x 16 inches.

Connaway is a noted American 20th century landscape and marine artist who lived and taught on Monhegan Island, Maine and also had a summer home and art school in Dorset, Vermont and later moved to Pawlet.
Scottish sword with basket hilt and steel blade engraved with thistles and floral scrolls made by W.Shearer, Glasgow, Scotland. The blade is in excellent original condition without any rust and includes its original metal scabbard. It bears the marks of the Volunteer Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. This large Meissen porcelain platter has a scalloped gilded rim with four reserves in the border which are hand painted with depictions of pheasants. In the platter's center is a large reserve with four pheasants feeding. Underglaze blue Meissen crossed swords mark with pommels. 19th century. Very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration, only some minor wear to the gilding on the rim. Size: 16 inches long x 11.5 inches deep.
