A scarce English Regency period tortoise shell tea caddy with reverse serpentine front, domed top, and shaped apron base, circa 1820, exhibiting a double compartment interior with original tortoise shell lids. There is a silvered, scalloped key hole escutcheon plate and a shield shaped silvered plaque on the lid, with ivory trim surrounding the openings. Early Georgian shagreen covered slant front knife box with original brass hardware and working lock. English. Circa 1740-1760. Materials: Shagreen (shark skin) over wood with brass bail handle, hinges and lock escutcheon. Including key.
