Ceremonial ritual drum, pinge, Senufo people, African Ivory Coast (Cote d'Ivoire), Korhogo region. Circa 1890. Wood and hide, carved in the form of a bare breasted tribal woman seated on a stool, supporting the drum with her arms. The drum is adorned with various symbols including an animal mask, lizards, stork, crocodile, axe, and biting beast. Flora Danica porcelain covered custard cup by Royal Copenhagen. Dated 1916. Size: 3.25" height x 2.5" diameter. Flora Danica is one of the finest of porcelain patterns. The original service was commissioned by the Danish king, Christian VII, in 1790, as a gift for Empress Catherine the Great of Russia. A rare French porcelain figural inkstand in the form of a grazing cow, 19th century. This inkstand has a removable inkwell and sander and is modeled in the form of a grazing cow, complete with horns and bell, decorated in polychrome enamels, with overglaze gilt accents. It bears a blue pseudo Sevres mark on the underside. Continental, probably of French origin. Vue d'une Ancienne Abbaye Staffordshire historical plate by Enoch Wood. Circa 1825. This pearlware plate is decorated in a dark blue transfer and is from the "French series." It has a grape vine border and bears on the back the pottery's factory impressed mark WOOD as well as the pattern name in an underglaze blue stamp. Size: 9" diameter. Condition: Very good with a couple of very small pin sized flecks to the glaze and some fine crazing.

Continental singing bird-in-cage automaton. Circa. 1900. Probably French or Swiss. Bird fashioned from real feathers, with glass eyes, and on a brass perch. Key-wind mechanism inside base of cage causes bird to sing various bird songs, while moving beak and turning head. Some loss to bird’s feathers. Musical movement is operational but sometimes hesitates, requiring a slight titling action to restore it, so probably requires some adjustment. Size: 12.5” ht.

Rare Gorham Arts & Crafts sterling silver sauce gravy ladle in a hammered surface and with mixed metals design on the handle of two cherries, leaf and twig in bronze, and with a second leaf in gilded silver. Circa 1885. Excellent condition. Marks: stamped with the Gorham logo (lion, anchor, G) "sterling & other metals", and with the name of the retailer George H. Ford. Size: 6" length.
